Former Staff Attorney Appointed Standing Chapter 13 Trustee

Elizabeth Vaughan is back in the news. We first met Ms. Vaughan last year introducing Academy readers to her series of fictional books which take readers on an adventure through the Chronicles of the Warlands.

Now, Ms. Vaughan’s day job has taken her to the next level. Elizabeth A. Vaughan was appointed as the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee for the Northern District of Ohio effective June 1st.

Ms. Vaughan graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Baldwin-Wallace College. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1983. Ms. Vaughan served as Law Clerk to The Honorable Richard M. Markus then entered private practice.

From 1988 through October of 2007 she was a solo practitioner representing both debtors and creditors and also served as a Chapter 7 panel trustee. She then switched gears and began representing Chapter 13 Trustee John P. Gustafson in Toledo, Ohio. She held this position for six and half years.

As regular Academy readers know, Trustee Gustafson was appointed to the Bench in April of this year. Ms. Vaughan applied for and has now been appointed as successor to Gustafson.

The multi-talented Vaughan is not only an accomplished author but has experience as a disc jockey. Perhaps she and Trustee Jan Hamilton (also a disc jockey in a former life) should collaborate!

Congratulations Beth!!
