Google Changes Gmail after 20 Years—2 Billion Users Must Now Decide

 

If you use @gmail.com for client communications, you will want to read this. There could be an ethics issue. Trustees should also be aware of one of these changes if you use Gmail.

Federal Rules & Forms Published for Public Comment - The Judicial Conference Advisory Committees on Appellate, Bankruptcy, Civil, Criminal, and Evidence Rules published proposed amendments to their respective rules and forms. Pay.gov - Saturday, 1/31 from 6:00 to 11:00 pm ET, Pay.gov will conduct a Disaster Recovery Exercise. Agencies will experience a total interruption of all Pay.gov services.

D. AZ - Electronic Trustee Payments for Fees and Unclaimed Funds - Court will transition to electronic payments for trustee disbursements of estate-owed fees and unclaimed funds through ACH - Public Notice 26-01

C.D. CA - Sunday, 1/11 from 2:00 am to 1:00 pm, the PACER Development Branch will perform maintenance on PACER. Users may experience intermittent authentication issues when logging in as well as intermittent connection issues when submitting payments through Pay.gov.

D. CT - 2026 proposed revisions to the Local Rules are available for review 1/8 thru 2/9.

D. HI - Updated form chapter 13 plan and Attachments A and B. The general order adopting the plan provides that the revised plan may be used immediately - mandatory on and after 1/15/26.

M.D. LA - New hearing dates and times - 2026

S.D. CA – Filings Using Generative Artificial Intelligence. General Order 210 effective 1/1/26.

N. & S. D. MS - Invitation for Public Comment and a summary of the proposed amendments may be found here. Comment period ends 1/31/26.
