Honorable H. Christopher Mott was appointed to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Texas, Austin and El Paso Divisions in September of 2010. In 1980, he received a B.B.A. with Highest Honors from Texas Tech University followed by a J.D. with High Honors from Texas Tech School of Law in 1983. Mott was Order of Coif and Business Editor – Law Review. He is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy; Master, Larry E. Kelly Bankruptcy Inn of Court; Past Chair of the Texas Bankruptcy Section of State Bar (2009-2010); Past Commissioner of the Texas Bankruptcy Certification Exam Commission; Best Lawyers In America – Business Bankruptcy (1997-2010); Texas Super Lawyer – Business Bankruptcy (2003-2010); and was Corporate Counsel- Top Lawyer (2008, 2010). He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. He was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1983 and was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoys working out, golf, hiking, fly fishing, reading, and college football.
