Dawn Scaniffe is a 1991 graduate of Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. She has worked at the U.S. Department of Education Office of the General Counsel since October 1992. Since approximately 1995 her responsibilities have included assisting with individual student loan litigation (affirmative, defensive and bankruptcy) and escalated student loan issues, and with issues related to student loan collection and the laws governing such collection. In the current Administration, she has been involved with matters related to the Fresh Start Initiative, to the Bankruptcy Guidance issued by DOJ on Nov. 17, 2022 and Education’s implementation thereof, as well as others.
