Jody Bledsoe

Board of Directors - Secretary/Treasurer

Biography

Jody Bledsoe, Esq., began his legal career in 1993 as an attorney and advocate for consumer debtors, and serving as the staff attorney for Carol A. Morrison, a former chapter 7 trustee in the Eastern District of North Carolina.  He continued to represent consumer debtors until 2014, when he was appointed to serve as a chapter 13 trustee for the Eastern District of North Carolina (“EDNC”), where he eventually came to serve the New Bern, Greenville, Fayetteville, and Wilmington Divisions of that District.  In January of 2025, Jody decided to return to his consumer debtor “roots,” joining The Biggs Law Firm in Raleigh, NC.

Jody is a member of the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees (“NACTT”), and he is a member of the Board of the NACTT Academy, a separate non-profit entity created by the NACTT to collect and publish educational materials related to chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings. Jody is also a member of the Board of the Eastern Bankruptcy Institute (“EBI”), which provides continuing legal education on bankruptcy matters in the EDNC, and he is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (“NACBA”).

Because of his knowledge and experience in chapter 13, Jody is frequently asked to speak by national and local organizations, including NACBA, the NACTT, and the EBI. He is also the host of the NACTT Academy’s emerging podcast series, “The Consumer Bankruptcy Diary.”

Jody assists clients primarily in the Eastern District of North Carolina.
