District of Oregon Welcomes New Trustee

Naliko Markel (pronounced Nah-Lee-Co) was appointed Chapter 13 Standing Trustee for the District of Oregon (Eugene) on January 1, 2015.

Beginning in 2002 Mr. Markel served as a Business Case Analyst for the Chapter 13 Trustee’s office in the District of Oregon (Portland). He quickly transitioned to the role of Systems Manager and in 2010, added management of the Modified Plans Department to his supervisory responsibilities. He joined the NACTT Staff Symposia Leadership team as a facilitator in 2013. Naliko received a B.S. in Finance from the University of Oregon and earned his MBA from the University of Portland.

Being appointed Trustee in Eugene was a dream come true for Naliko and his family. The small city offers many of the amenities of Portland but at a slower pace, with easier access to hiking and biking trials. Outside the office, Naliko loves spending time with his wife and two children, particularly doing anything outdoors. He enjoys cheering on his Oregon Ducks, and gastronomical adventures of all kinds.
