I love having PDF files for seminar materials because compared to paper, they are:

Easier to carry (since I always travel with a laptop or tablet anyway);
Easier to navigate (using search tools, bookmarks, thumbnail views, and zoom,); and
Easier to retrieve and use later for reference (I can search the content of files on my computer faster than looking through paper files).

Taking notes during seminar presentations, however, is not as . . .
