Meet Faye English

fayeenglishMs. English was appointed as the Chapter 13 Trustee in Columbus, Ohio in August 2014. She filled the vacancy left by Jeff Norman who was appointed as a United States Bankruptcy Judge.

Ms. English began her professional career in banking. After working for five years, she decided law school was the fastest way to reach her overall career goals. She is an Ohio-girl – through and through. She is a graduate of Kent State University and received her J.D., Cum Laude in 2002 from the University of Akron, School of Law.

Prior to being appointed as a Chapter 13 Standing Trustee, she concentrated her practice in representing creditors in bankruptcy cases throughout Ohio. She was an associate attorney with Reimer, Arnovitz, Chernek & Jeffrey Co., LPA from September, 2004 to August, 2014. Faye represented mortgage lenders, banks, finance companies, and automotive financiers in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 proceedings.

She has experience representing debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, as well as experience in the areas of estate planning and contract law. Faye was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2002, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in 2003, the U.S District Court for the Southern District of Ohio in 2005, and the U.S Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in 2009.

She is a frequent speaker and organizer at local, regional and national seminars, is a member of the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees, the Ohio State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, The NACTT Academy, and has authored two articles for the NACTT Quarterly.

In both 2010 and 2012, Ms. English was selected by Super Lawyers magazine as an Ohio Rising Star.

She is happily married to James English. When James and Faye first meet, a popular chant surrounding them was: “James and Faye sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.” But it was appropriate, they were in kindergarten. Twelve years after breaking up as high school sweethearts, they re-met and were married a year later. They love living in Columbus with their two sons who keep them hopping. In her spare time, Faye loves spending time with her family, especially doing anything outdoors including tennis and swimming.
